Quality Inspector

Dingwell’s Machinery & Supply Limited (Dingwell’s Global) is currently taking applications for a Quality Inspector for our Thunder Bay, ON manufacturing facilities. Qualified candidates must have previous experience and the ability to develop and maintain quality standards as well as inspect the quality of our manufacturing, machining and fabrication products.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in development and maintenance of our Quality Management System.

  • Review current standards and policies.

  • Assist in continual development of procedures to inspect and report quality issues.

  • Monitor all operations that affect quality.

  • Ensure the reliability and consistency of production processes and final output.

  • Appraise customers’ requirements and make sure they are satisfied.

  • Report all malfunctions to production management to ensure immediate action.

  • Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data.

  • Keep records of quality reports, statistical reviews and relevant documentation.

  • Ensure all legal standards are met.

  • Communicate with external quality assurance officers during on-site inspections.

  • Read blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of finished products.

  • Inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced or received.

  • Measure products using rulers, measuring tapes, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.

  • Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.

 

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Quality Inspector.

  • Thorough knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.

  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and work in a time sensitive environment, paying attention to quality and detail of the work.

  • Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods.

  • Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner.

  • Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of ERP systems. E2 experience is an asset.

  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances (GD&T).

  • Experience in various advanced electronic inspection equipment.

  • Certification for quality control.
